Where to get help

We all struggle from time to time, and it's good to know where we can go to ask for help. Here's some of the places we know about. We're a Coventry church so most of these resources are either national or specific to the Coventry and Warwickshire area.

If you're worried about a child or vulnerable adult:

Domestic Violence

Emergency Duty Team: 02476 832 222 if in urgent need of refuge outside office hours. 

A charity run by women for women. Their aim is to help women and their children who have experienced, or are experiencing, domestic abuse in any form to free them from the situation they are in. They do this by providing safe housing and a range of support services, before, during and after leaving their abusive partner/family member. They will assist you through your whole journey. They support all women irrespective of whether they want to leave the relationship or not, older women, younger women, historic or current abuse. They will assist you with any other issues you may be experiencing alongside your abuse, for example surrounding: immigration, discrimination, disability, LGBT, housing, debt management, alcohol and drug abuse, multiple needs, or no recourse to public funds (NRPF). These services are run by staff and volunteers and are free of charge.

Refuge Domestic Violence Service - Warwickshire
Helpline: 0800 408 1552 (Monday-Friday 8:30am-8:30pm; Saturday 10am-4pm) 

If you are experiencing domestic violence in Warwickshire, Refuge’s Domestic Violence Service Warwickshire can support you and your children to keep safe. It is a county-wide service which provides support to women, men and children experiencing domestic violence in Warwickshire.

The service is available to female and male victims of domestic abuse and also to perpetrators. N.B. due to cuts, a free service is only available to residents of Nuneaton, Bedworth and Stratford town. A payable service is offered to residents of Leamington, Warwick and Rugby.

A Christian-based charity which provides a general counselling service to the whole community irrespective of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, belief and social background. Counselling provided for depression, anxiety, sexual problems (including abuse victims), eating disorders, problems with anger, bereavement, terminal illness and all types of relationship difficulties.
